Chemical Peels Treatment Options
Our skin goes through many rough experiences through the years including exposure to the sun, harsh cosmetics, repeated facial expressions, etc. All this damage becomes quite visible on our outer layer of skin and results in an unhealthy, dull, aged appearance.
Enter the VI Chemical Peel
At SDBotox, we offer a variety of chemical peels, but we specialize in the VI Peel.
The outer layer of skin on your face is made up of a dead layer of cells known as the epidermis. Intense chemical peels, such the VI Peel, remove this dull layer to expose the new youthful layer below. This leads to smooth, radiant skin with reduced fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and sunspots
Chemical Peels and VI Peel are considered safe and effective for almost all areas of the body. However, the areas with the best response are the face, neck, and hands. Let’s Talk About the VI Peel
How does the VI Peel differ from other chemical peels? Many peels are merely ineffective because they don’t do enough. Others are effective but require multiple peels, weeks of pretreatments, a great deal of discomfort, and prolonged recovery times. The VI Peel, on the other hand, can deliver the same striking result as these peels, except with less pain and minimal healing time.
The VI Peel is comprised of five revitalizing acids: Retin-A, TCA, Phenol, Salicylic Acid and Vitamin C
Within a week, our patients begin to notice improvements in the texture and tones of their skin. Large pores and hyperpigmentation areas are also improved.
Who is Ideal for a VI Peel?
VI Peels are safe for all ethnicities and skin tones which make it an excellent choice for anyone seeking to enhance their complexion. Just about anyone troubled with fine lines and wrinkles, scarring, and/or sunspots can benefit from the VI Peel. Our ideal candidate should be in good basic health with sound expectations of the procedure. At your first consultation, our provider will determine if VI Peel is the proper choice to meet your skin goals.
Is It Painful?
With the initial application, you may experience a slight stinging. However, this should quickly resolve.
Once the VI Peel is applied, you are free to leave. A few hours later you can remove it at home by just washing it off.
You will receive additional products designed for aftercare use to boost the peeling process.
Our team of professionals at SDBotox will review the at-home instructions before you leave our office.
What is the recovery like?
Once you remove the VI Peel by washing your face, your skin will appear mildly swollen and red. There is no need to worry, this is normal and typically fades within 24 hours
No downtime is necessary after your VI Peel. Therefore you can return to school, work, and most regular activities immediately. However, we recommend you avoid strenuous activities or exercise for the first 24-48 hours as sweating can result in altering your VI Peel results.
Around post-procedure day 3-4 your skin will naturally exfoliate. This can be dramatic as the most superficial layer of your skin sheds and sloughs off. Timing is key, and we recommend you avoid any serious social engagements during these couple of days. What follows, however, is beautiful, radiant skin that lasts for months.
Avoiding the sun for 1-2 weeks post-treatment is essential.
The VIPeel costs $300.
