Kybella Reduces Chin Fat or Double Chin

Lingering fat under the chin, also known as submental fat, can be such a pain to get rid of. In fact, 1 in 4 people between the ages of 18-79 say they are bothered by submental fullness – the appearance of a “double chin”. Even people that are not overweight can be bothered by excess fat in this area.

Kybella to the rescue.

Kybella is a drug that is injected in specific areas to decrease the amount of fat and tighten the overlying skin. It is the first and only FDA approved product that dissolves fat from the “double chin.” It is a man-made version of deoxycholic acid, a substance our bodies produce naturally to absorb fat.

Although Kybella is primarily used under the chin, it can also be used to decrease the appearance of the jowls.
Best of all, results are permanent.  This is a big deal seeing as Botox lasts between 3-4 months and dermal fillers between 1-2 years.

The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and a total of 2-4 treatments, spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart, should be performed for best results. The area is anesthetized prior to treatment but you may experience a mild burning sensation later that day.  There may also be decreased sensation in the treatment area for a few days or weeks.  After the first treatment, the body’s natural inflammatory response may cause the treatment area to appear larger than prior to treatment.  This is short lived and will decrease.

Treatment for submental fat typically costs $1,000-$1,500 per treatment.
SDBotox Prime: $950-$1425.

Treatment for jowls typically costs $500 per treatment.
