Small, vertical injections that lift the lips upward rather than pushing them forward, for a taller center, a sharp cupid’s bow, and a flat side profile. Technique-sensitive and needs good baseline structure, so it’s not usually the move for very thin lips or a first appointment.
Full pout / Hollywood
Noticeable volume in both lips for a fuller, more dramatic look. Suits people who want an obvious, glamorous enhancement rather than a subtle one.
Pillowy
Soft, even fullness distributed smoothly across both lips for a plush, hydrated appearance. Suits people who want fullness that still reads soft rather than sculpted.
Heart-shaped / cherry
More volume concentrated in the center, tapering toward the corners, for a youthful, playful pout. Suits people who want central fullness and a sweet, rounded shape.
Keyhole
Central definition that leaves a subtle gap in the middle of the lips for a modern, pouty finish. Placement has to be precise, or the gap simply disappears.
Lip flipBotox, not filler
Not filler at all. A few units of Botox relax the muscle along the upper lip so it rolls gently outward, showing a little more lip. Subtle, lasts a couple of months, and pairs well with filler or works on its own.
Corner (downturned) correctionBotox, not filler
Usually driven by muscle, not volume. The depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscles pull the mouth corners down; the fix is a few units of Botox to relax them and let the corners lift. Can be combined with filler when you also want volume.
How to choose the right shape for your face
The shape that photographs beautifully on someone else may not suit your proportions. As a rough starting point:
- Oval face: the most versatile — classic, cupid’s bow, or Russian can all work.
- Round face: natural or subtle central volume tends to flatter without widening the look.
- Square face: soft curves and a little cupid’s bow definition add balance.
- Long face: can usually carry more vertical height, so fuller or Russian styles fit well.
- Heart-shaped face: emphasizing the lower lip helps balance a narrower chin.
Your natural lip structure matters just as much as your face shape. Thin lips, for example, often can’t support a high-volume Russian look without distortion. A good injector will tell you that honestly rather than chase a trend.
