Meet Nurse Practitioner Rica: Aesthetic Expertise Meets Passion
One of the key providers at our new Carlsbad location is Nurse Practitioner Rica, whose diverse background and expertise make her an invaluable part of our team.
Born in Ohio and raised in Texas, Rica completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University in May 2003, earning a triple major in Communications, Technical Writing, and Spanish. After a successful career in business, she followed her passion for healthcare, obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing. Rica began her medical journey working in the Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit outside of Detroit, Michigan, before earning her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Toledo.
In 2017, Rica joined Rady Children’s Hospital, working in the Emergency Department before transitioning into aesthetics in 2019—a move she describes as life-changing. Rica loves collaborating with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that enhance their natural beauty while respecting their unique features. Her favorite part of aesthetics? Building trust with her patients and helping them feel confident in their own skin.
Outside of work, Rica is an adventurer at heart. Whether surfing, hiking, camping, or backpacking with her two dogs, she finds joy in exploring the outdoors. From hiking mountains to scuba diving beneath the sea, she embraces every new adventure life offers. When she’s not on the go, she enjoys quiet nights with friends and family.
