(Mid-level laser)
What it is: A Fractionated resurfacing laser, which means it ablates narrow channels into the skin, while leaving surrounding tissue intact. The treated zones stimulate the body’s natural healing process to generate new collagen. The fractionated method allows a deeper treatment with lower downtime compared to full field resurfacing lasers that removes the entire surface area.
Who it’s for: Deeper skin texture issues such as winkles, acne scars, surgical scars, and other imperfections.
Where it’s used: Face is the most commonly performed area, along with neck and chest.
How often: Depending on the severity of skin concerns, 1-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
What to expect: Topical numbing is applied to the treatment area for 45 mins prior, the laser procedure can take 30 mins – 60 mins depending on how large the surface area is. Redness and swelling for 24-48 hours after treatment, followed by 4-7 days of mild peeling and flaking. Noticeable improvement in weeks with continued improvement for 6-12 months.
